Abstract
The characteristics of neotectonic movement around the Bohai Strait are researched upon the comprehensive study of some newly collected seismic profiles, including both single and multiple channel seismics. Data reveals that there are intensive neotectonic movement and various geohazardous factors in the study area such as fracturing, shallow gas and magmatic activities. The NE-striking fault and NW-striking fault are the main active faults. The shallow gas is popular and deep in origin. The magmatic activity are well coupled with fault activities. Some suggestions are made for future engineering constructions.
